Just Saying...

Madonna, Madonna...Madonna  gone are the days of the mature and retrospective lyrics of 'Like a Prayer', 'Ray of Light' and even 'American Life'. Missing in her music now are the classic pop elements that filled ‘Dress You Up, ‘Vogue’, ‘Rescue Me, ‘Open Your Heart’, ‘I’ll Remember’ and even ‘Deeper & Deeper’.  Those songs had the Madge’ic us fans became accustom to and now long for when she releases anything in the 2000’s

Okay, so I heard the album today. I will have a full review of the album the week of its release. Let's just say that even though this album is no Ray of Light or Like a Prayer, there is nothing to worry about here. Madonna has made a solid album with only a couple lousy tracks: ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ and ‘B-Day Song’. By the way, MIA's contribution has been taken out of B-Day song.

HOW MANY SONGS DOES "GIRL GONE WILD" RIP-OFF?
Oh Cyndi... just wanna have fun...

Britney Spears - "Me Against The Music":  You got me in the zone

Britney Spears - "Break The Ice":  When I hear them 808 drums

Jennifer Lopez - "On The Floor"
:  On the floor till the daylight comes

Jennifer Lopez - "Hypnotico":  It's so hypnotic

Jennifer Lopez - "Play":  DJ play my favorite song, Turn me on

Christina Aguilera - "You Lost Me":  Get fired up like smokin' gun

. . Don't forget, the "Act of Contrition", at the opening, was already done on 1989's "Act of Contrition".

"Hung Up" also reused lyrics from "Love Song", also "Like A Prayer", so...I dunno do we care or not? I’m confused. Maybe we all have too high hopes for this album after the bummer that was 'Hard Candy'. I feel that all the music she has made since 'Confessions' is generic and silly.

Anyways, we will wait and see and love it anyway.  She's still our girl at the end of the day.  Does she even care?
. . Don't forget, the "Act of Contrition", which she receits in GGW's opening, was already done on 1989's "Like A Prayer" album, track 11, "Act of Contrition".

“Girl Gone Wild” Lyric Video

Perhaps to avoid any legal run-ins with Girls Gone Wild franchise creator Joe Francis, Madonna’s second MDNA single has now had its title slightly altered to “Girl Gone Wild”.
Whatever the case may be, a lyric video for the track — and the song itself — premiered today, and here we find Madge doing what she does best: turning up the heat on the dance floor. Watch below.

Madonna enlisted the production skills of Benny Bennasi and Alle Bennasi for the pulsing club jam “Girl Gone Wild”. Lyrically, the song is packed with tried-but-true sexual pop cliches like “girls they just wanna have some fun” (what up, Cyndi Lauper?), “you got me in the zone” and “I got that burnin’ hot desire”.
And given the song’s lusty nature, it’s no surprise that there are some vague wink-wink references to the Material Girl’s naughtiest album, Erotica. (”It’s so erotic,” Madonna sings, while later adding, “I know good girls don’t misbehave but I’m a bad girl anyway.”)

Cheerleader-invoking previous single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” was fun enough, but we can’t help feeling “Girl Gone Wild” is more along the lines of what we’ve come to know and love Madonna for.

Below is the lyric video which features an edited version of the track, and brand new MDNA era images!

What do you think of her new single?

Amanda Seyfried Queen of Pop?

Amanda Seyfrie and Madonna
Here's Amanda Seyfried at the premiere of her new movie "Gone" and the Queen of Pop Madonna at a pre-Super Bowl event earlier this month.
The actress, better known for her most recent roles in films like "Dear John" has expanded her resume with the new release of "Gone." The film, which appeared in theaters on Friday, February 24 depicts the actress in a more serious role.

Seyfried plays a character that is kidnapped and thrown in a deep whole. While the character, Jill, is able to escape she returns home to find that her sister is missing. The character is depicted as slightly mental because it is uncertain whether or not she was actually kidnapped or if the event only occurred in her head.

For inspiration of her portrayal as Jill, Seyfried has said that she based her character on her real life sister, stating that her sister was a bit on the depressive side. "I based this character on my sister because she tends to be a little more sensitive," the actress told the Hollywood Reporter.

Madonna spreads some Oscars cheer

Madonna gave away custom-made Gucci luggage at her post-Oscars party last night (26.02.12).  The 'Give Me All Your Luvin' singer - who has hosted a bash at her manager Guy Oseary's home after the Academy Awards for the last five years - had an artist come over from Italy to create the special presents for guests.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "A Gucci artisan from Florence, whose workbench will be set up on-site, will hand-emboss initials of attending Oscar winners, nominees and special guests on signature pieces of luggage as celebratory gifts."

Among those invited to attend were Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lopez and Tom Cruise.

However, Cameron Diaz was reportedly banned from going to the party at the specific request of her friend Demi Moore, who is said to be annoyed the 'Bad Teacher' actress flirted with her estranged husband Ashton Kutcher at a Golden Globes party last month.

A source revealed: "Demi was instrumental in the guest list and told Madonna there was no way in hell Cameron should be allowed over the threshold." - Bang Showbiz

Madonna’s Best Looks At The Oscars

What's Your Favorite Look?

Madonna has been looking marvelous these days, hasn't she? Now that the MDNA singer has scored a Best Costume Oscar nomination for her filmW.E., we're sure the Material Girl will be pulling out all the stops on the 2012 Academy Awards red carpet tonight. In anticipation of what the pop queen will wear for Hollywood's biggest night, join us as we look back at Madonna's fashion triumphs and serious missteps from Oscars past, and tell us your predictions for the pop icon's awards ensemble this year below.

Madonna and Elton John Wage War to Win Best Oscars After Party

Madonna and Elton John Wage War to Win Best Oscars After Party
As the battle between nominees at the Oscars came to an end last night a whole new war was waged, one between Madonna and Elton John to see who can have the best Oscars after-party.  Madonna and Elton John have recently been slinging words at one another of varying degrees of nastiness, but things heated up quite a bit when the two superstars announced their Oscars after parties which, as it happens, were both held at the exact same time and pretty much right next to each other.

At John’s party, which benefited the Elton John Aids Foundation, tickets were said to cost around $3,500. Elton managed to snag quite a few high profile celebrities, with Katy Perry, Chace Crawford, Dita Von Teese, Heidi Klum, and Jessica Alba all reported to be on John’s guest list.
John’s celebrity lineup certainly looks impressive, but Madonna appears to have gotten the upper hand as far as the celebrity guest list for her Oscars after party is concerned. Madonna’s guest list included names like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Britney Spears, Natalie Portman, Sean Penn, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez and Tom Cruise.
This whole mess between Madonna and Elton John has been going on for quite some time now, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be coming to an end anytime soon. It all started back in 2004 when Madonna won Best Live Act at the Q Awards, and John accused her of lip-syncing.
The superstar feud was reignited once again recently when John said that Madonna wouldn’t sing at the Super Bowl–and, as you may recall, she did.

What do you think of Madonna and Elton John’s ongoing feud?

Lady Gaga fumes at NME for “Most Pretentious Album Ever” but it’s true… The bitchy side to Lady Gaga came out in full force last night. When NME magazine sent her a tweet with their article containing ‘The 10 Most Pretentious Albums Ever’, Gaga took major offense to it and even raged about it to her 20 million followers. ‘Born This Way’ was one of the albums that made the list, and funnily enough, despite NME putting Gaga up as a nomination for the worst album, they did in deed initially review it with an 8/10 rating! *sips tea*

Taking to her twitter, a clearly annoyed Gaga wrote: “Oh the irony of winning “Most Pretentious Album Ever” from none other than NME. *eyeroll* I might laugh forever + then return to narcissism”.

Hilarious and priceless.

Can Gaga actually deny being a narcissist? I can point out a number of things that makes ‘Born This Way’ a pretentious album.

1. Gaga, her team, her producers and practically everyone in her circle overhyped the album, claiming it to be her best work, and the next best thing since Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’ months before it was even released. That IS pretty pretentious in my book.

2. Gaga’s team cheated and pulled manipulative tactics to get the album to sell over a million copies in its first week. This prompted Billboard to change their chart policies after the singer released the album for 99 cents (through Amazon‘s Cloud service). Giving away an album for next to nothing does not show authenticity in the intent of the record buying public, which defines pretentious in the highest form!

3. Gaga will steal borrow the melody from a certain pop legend and call it her own. Ironically, this is not the first time, NME got underneath Gaga’s tits. When they questioned her about claims she ripped off Madonna‘s ‘Express Yourself’ for her lead single ‘Born This Way’, she angrily replied: “Just because I’m the first f*cking artist in 25 years to think of putting [the same similar chord progression] on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means that I’m f*cking smart”. To this day, Gaga has never directly credited Madonna for the blatant influences and at the Grammy Awards last year, she thanked Whitney Houston for her inspiration behind ‘Born This Way’. Pretentious!

I rest my case.

Madonna school plan baffles Malawi

Madonna holds her adopted son David Banda in her arms as her daughter Lourdes, looks on, at the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji, Malawi.

Education officials in Malawi have attacked Madonna for unveiling plans to build ten schools in the country, a year after she was forced to scrap a project to build a girls' academy.

Madonna, who has adopted two children from Malawi, announced last month that her Raising Malawi charity was teaming up with non-profit group buildOn to create the ten schools instead.

But John Bisika, Malawi's national secretary for education, science and technology, said: ''We have had no written or verbal communication. We just read about it in the papers … For someone to go to the papers and say, 'I'm building schools', without telling the government, I find it a strange way of working.''

The singer's initial plan to construct a $15 million school for about 400 girls just outside the capital, Lilongwe, was scrapped last year without a brick being laid. The board of Raising Malawi was fired.

Mr Bisika said: ''She told us she would build an academy for girls. We gave her land and had a ground-breaking ceremony. The next thing we hear is the plan has been abandoned.''
A spokeswoman for Madonna disputed the claim there was a lack of consultation, showing a letter addressed to Malawi's education minister from the Global Philanthropy Group, which manages Raising Malawi.

Madonna Samples...

Justify My Love...

Justify My Thug  - Jay-Z (2003)

Has Madonna’s ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” Tanked?

It all started out so well.
Backed by a mammoth promotional campaign, Madonna‘s “comeback” single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” seemed poised to smash charts globally.
And yet, merely weeks removed from its release, the song is far from faring well in a number of key territories.

In the UK, a market which Madge has consistently sold in, ‘Luvin” has received anything but that. Indeed, the Nicki Minaj and MIA assisted cut has only managed to scrape the Top 40, peaking at a lowly #37. A feat which sees the track serve as her worst-performing lead single in Britain, and one of her worst performing here full stop.

The single has also fared poorly in Australia, peaking at #25 on the ARIA.

Stateside, the track has enjoyed a somewhat better run, becoming the 53 year old’s first top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 since 2008′s ’4 Minutes’, after hitting #10 last week. Yet, backed by the epic buzz of her Super Bowl showing and a cunning radio deal with Clear Channel, anything but that success would have been a colossal disaster.

And yet with the effects of both dimming, many find it no coincidence that the track’s radio spins and iTunes buys have ground to an abrupt halt.

Which begs the question; just how successful is ‘Luvin”?

In one regard, it’s served its true purpose of “advertising” its accompanying album ‘MDNA’, as well as the singer’s forthcoming tour – causing fever pitch anticipation for both. However, it’s also arguable that – given its “youthful” composition and lyrical content – the track has failed in its quest to cement her Madegesty’s relevance to today’s teen-dominated audience.

For yours truly, the track tanked before release, given the multiple flavours of garbage it served up. There’s keeping up with the Joneses, and there’s defecating on your discography – something ol’ Madge has done many times over with this cut. Unfortunate, as on paper, the trio of Madonna, MIA, and Minaj seemed like home-run and then some.

We can only hope ‘MDNA’ serves up better, serves up fresher.

'Girls Gone Wild' Lyrics

These lyrics are so cheesy.  Seriously M A D O N N A?  WTF!
Where's Lady Gaga and Adele?

Shut up girl, I know just what you’re thinking
Pink stuff in my cup, that’s what I’m drinking
Damn it feels so good to be young
C’mon love before the night is done
I’ve been lookin at you but I didn’t know what to say
And lets take our time
Let me get inside
Lets take out time
Let me get inside
Hey, ey, ey, ey
Let the girls gone wild
Let the girls gone wild
And now, hey, ey, ey, ey
Let the girls gone wild
Let the girls gone wild
Girls say just wanna have fun
Get fired up like smokin’ gun
All the fortune, daylight comes
Girls they just wanna have some fun
I need a girl whose down to get naked
Get drunk and come over maybe we can tape it
And baby girl you should probably just face it
I’m the fuckin best, I’m so high I need a spaceship
They are thinking?
Pink stuff in my cup, that’s what I’m drinking
Hey, ey, ey, ey
Let the girls gone wild
Let the girls gone wild
And now, hey, ey, ey, ey
Let the girls gone wild
Let the girls gone wild
Girls say just wanna have fun
Get fired up like smokin’ gun
All the fortune, daylight comes
Girls they just wanna have some fun
I’m at the club it’s like girls gone wild
I’m on my bus it’s like girls gone wild
Don’t you know the girls gone wild?
I’m at the club it’s like girls gone wild
I’m on my bus it’s like girls gone wild
Girls say just wanna have fun
Get fired up like smokin’ gun
All the fortune, daylight comes
Girls they just wanna have some fun

Madonna's Stalker's Storage Locker Revealed

Remember Madonna's stalker? Robert Dewey Hoskins?
The one that served a 10-year sentence for doing it?
Yeah, well, he had this storage locker and stopped paying for it. So the owner of the lockers had the right to sell it off. So they opened it.
Know what they found?
Lots and lots Madonna memorabilia. CDs and photos. Oh, and condoms, women's jewelry, box cutters, scissors, a bible and probably the creepiest mask ever!
NOT COOL!
The LAPD is going to investigate the contents, because when it was sold they didn't know who the owner was until they found paperwork and prescription bottles inside.
Wonder what drives someone do things like this??

Here's what the source is saying:
'It is the first time Lourdes will have appeared on stage with her mum. There are risqué dancers and some blatantly sexual dance routines – but Madonna is really excited about Lourdes making an appearance.'
Lourdes even helped her mom choose her tour dancers at recent rehearsals at Pineapple Studios in London.
Sounds amazing!
We wonder how good Lourdes is!
Do U think this is a good idea??

MUCH 'LOVE' (AND 'LUV')

Just as they did during the '80s and '90s, Whitney Houston and Madonna again share space in the Billboard Hot 100's top 10.

With late legend Houston's "I Will Always Love You" returning to the tally at No. 7 and Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin'," featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., rising 13-10, Houston and Madonna concurrently rank in the top 10 for the first time in more than 16 years.

The pair last charted in the top tier together the week of Jan. 27, 1996, when Houston's former No. 1 "Exhale (Shoop, Shoop)" held at No. 2 (for the ninth of its 11 frames at the runner-up spot after its lone week at the summit) and Madonna's "You'll See" rebounded 10-8 after peaking at No. 6.

Over their iconic careers, the twosome held court in the top 10 together with multiple sets of prior hits.

In fact, the week of Houston's first top 10 appearance - July 6, 1985 - when "You Give Good Love" rose 13-7, Madonna ranked at No. 10 with "Angel" (5-10). In a harbinger of their future pop culture impact, the then-budding superstars were the only solo women in the top 10 that frame, although Eurythmics' "Would I Lie to You?" (No. 6) and 'til Tuesday's "Voices Carry" (No. 9) each featured female lead singers (Annie Lennox and Aimee Mann, respectively).

Coincidentally, in both their first week in the top 10 together and their latest, Houston placed at No. 7 and Madonna, No. 10.

POWER OF TWO: Two additional Hot 100 chart weeks serve as an even shinier reflection of the divas' dominance when their singles releases were automatic, surefire hits.

On the May 24 and 31, 1986, chart weeks, Houston's "Greatest Love of All" and Madonna's "Live to Tell" ranked at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. The frames mark the only weeks that the pair claimed the Hot 100's top two spots.

(Houston graciously stepped aside the following week (June 7), as "Love" dipped to No. 3 and "Tell" took over at No.  1).

That "Love" ranks on this week's Hot 100, re-entering at No. 41, clearly reinforces the timelessness of the song - and Houston's everlasting appeal.

'LIKE' NEW: There's more luvin' for Her Madgesty this week, as her classic "Like a Prayer" enters Digital Songs at No. 38. After she performed it as part of her Super Bowl halftime extravaganza Feb. 5, it surges by 172% to 49,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The track debuted on the Hot 100 - also at No. 38 - the week of March 11, 1989. It went on to become the seventh of Madonna's 12 No. 1s five weeks later.
